Established in 2021, after relocating to Bristol, Rowan Elwell Tree Services has spent the last few years predominantly operating as a sub-contracting climber business. But in 2025, we’re expanding on our contracting business and taking on more clients of our own. We are fully qualified LANTRA & NPTC machine and climbing certified and proud to carry out tree works according to the British Standard BS3998 current guidelines of practice. We’re Associate Members of The Arboricultural Association and currently working towards our International Society of Arboriculture ‘Certified Arborist’ credentials.

My Story
My name is Rowan Willow (Fun fact… the botanical translation of my name would be ‘Sorbus Salix’) Elwell.
I grew up on the edge of The New Forest National Park, on the border between Dorset and Hampshire and just a stones throw from the Jurassic Coast. The forest was right on our doorstep, and this led naturally to a passion for the outdoors, adventure and well…trees.
I come from a creative family with backgrounds in Art, Music, Theatre and Television, as well as social care and health services too.
After heading to Brighton to study Songwriting and develop my career in the music industry, I had a change of heart and headed back to my ‘roots’.
The trees of The New Forest welcomed me back home with open ‘limbs’ and I thus started my adventure in the Arboriculture industry. I have been fortunate enough to train under some of the industry’s leading professionals in all sectors of which I work. And I pride myself in keeping up to date on current practice and all relevant certifications, including qualifications in Wilderness Medicine and First Response Emergency Care. I have always networked fiercely and believed that if you work hard, put the time and money into gaining skills and qualifications and are reliable and personable - then you will get to where you want to be. If not for such great role models in my journey, I would not be where I am now in my career. And I am still forever learning.
